La Salle Prep presents the musical "Into the Woods" at 7 p.m. April 21, 22, 27, 28 & 29, and 1:30 p.m. April 23.

Cinderella, Rapunzel, and other storybook characters will appear in this tale that reminds the audience that "wishes come true, not free."

More than 80 La Salle students are working on the production in various roles. Some appear in front of the curtain by acting, singing and playing musical instruments. Others work backstage with sets, props, and design.

Director Michael Shelter, a theater teacher at La Salle Prep, said he chose “Into the Woods” for several reasons.

“It has great music, characters, a really funny story and allows for a large cast,” he said. “The show, while funny, is really a fairy tale morality story that addresses the consequences of our choices and actions and how they affect us and others around us.”

Tickets for the show cost $5-15. Tickets for the pre-show “Ever-After Tea Party” April 23 cost $10 each. Buy all tickets at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?ticketing=lsh. La Salle Prep is a Catholic high school at 11999 SE Fuller Rd., Milwaukie.
