GASTON — Charles Tomlinson, 63, a parishioner of St. Alexander, Cornelius, died Jan. 31 at the Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro. There was a funeral Mass at St. Alexander Church in Cornelius.

Mr. Tomlinson was born Feb. 27, 1953, in Nampa, Idaho, the son of the late William Harold Tomlinson and Patricia L. (Rea) Tomlinson. As a boy he moved with his family to Oregon, settling in Hillsboro. Mr. Tomlinson graduated from Hillsboro Union High School, class of 1970. He owned Quality Asphalt Sealing, Inc.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.

He married Maria Parra March 2, 1991, in Hillsboro. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last March.

Mr. Tomlinson is survived by his wife, Maria Tomlinson, of Gaston; his son and daughter-in-law, Anwar and Shannon Parra, of Hillsboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Zaida and Luciano Flores, of Gaston; his  sister, Judy Richardson, of Oregon City; and his brother and sister-in-law, William and Jackie Tomlinson, of Sisters.

Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Nina Louise Flores, Victoria Carolina Flores and Luciano Lolek Flores, and several nieces and nephews.
