BELLVUE, Wash. — Katherine “Peggy” O’Neill Higgins, 92, died peacefully Jan. 28. There was a memorial Mass in Seattle.

Mrs. Higgins was born Jan. 8, 1925, to John W. and Helen O’Neill in Portland. She was a graduate of Holy Redeemer Grade School, St Mary Academy and Marylhurst College, where she was awarded the school’s Joan d’Arc outstanding academic trophy at her 1947 graduation. She married James Higgins Aug. 20, 1949. They lived in Seattle, where she was a homemaker and medical technologist. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Burien, Washington.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Jim, and several brothers.

She is survived by her children, John Higgins, Margaret Knight, Maureen Higgins, Eileen McCormack and Kathleen Jenny, and their respective spouses; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; and her sisters, Margie Hicks and Jean O’Neill Albrich.
