A choir of 90, comprising seminarians, clerics and priests from St. Benedict’s College, Mt. Angel, will furnish music for the Solemn Pontifical High Mass to be celebrated at the Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, next Sunday morning at 10 o’clock.
The occasion is the solemn observance of Mother’s Day, which incidentally is a special feast at the Sanctuary, to which the privilege of celebrating a “Mother’s Day Mass” has been accorded by papal rescript.
A large number of visitors from Portland and surrounding places are anticipated. It is stated that as many as 60,000 persons have been present at one time, at services and upon the sanctuary grounds.
