Aid public schools

Regarding “Parents need choice,” Feb. 17, page 23:

Public education is a civic duty. Private education is a parental choice. The history of public and private education has been and is contentious. Without mutual cooperation and collaboration, how will our children learn about moral citizenship?

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos needs to understand that further disenfranchising public education and federally promoting private education diminishes the benefits and magnifies the faults that both have.
