Another CYO swim season has ended, and with it swimmers will carry memories of hard work, new friends, snow, ice, and keen competition.
There were four championship meets: The Polliwog, for kindergarteners to third graders; two division meets for 4th – 8th graders; and the most popular, the All Stars Meet for 4th – 8th graders competing against their own gender and grade.
This was the first year CYO allowed scoring at the Polliwog Championship Meet. The boys from Holy Family and the girls from Valley Catholic came out in front. Holy Family’s Addison Dauler broke three meet records in the girls 25 freestyle, girls 25 breaststroke and girls 50 freestyle.
At the division meets, Valley Catholic won overall, with Our Lady of Lourdes in 2nd and Holy Family in 3rd. At the All Star meet, 12 records were broken. All results can be viewed on the CYO website under CYO Sports at www.cyocamphoward.org.
“Thank you to all the coaches and other parent volunteers for helping to make this a successful season,” said Mark Lee, CYO swim director. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
