ST. PAUL — Jessamine 'Mary' Weaver, 88, died Nov. 1.
She was born to William and Mary Weaver Sept. 29, 1928 in Portland.
She attended Girls Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon. She married James W. Fromherz May 3, 1947. Together they raised seven children and lived in the Portland, Dayton and St. Paul areas. She served the church in many areas over the years: Catholic Daughters, altar societies, eucharistic ministry starting at Holy Redeemer and St. Andrews parishes in Portland, St. James in McMinnville and finally at St. Paul Parish in St. Paul.
Her faith journey as a strong woman of God fueled her passion and delight for family, friends, and especially children. She would open her heart and home to include those in need. She always had time for children and delighted in their interpretations of life. Mary had a unique way about her that made you feel like you were the only person in the room and she never hesitated to tell you that she loved you. Mary also had a great sense of humor, her humor was spontaneous... initiating laughter and light heartedness! Teaching us that we had to have a good sense of humor to get thru life's struggles and refocus on what was really important.
Mary was preceded in death by her spouse James Fromherz, her sister Colleen Patricia Smith, and three grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her children Connie Gale, Shirley Faber, Sue Lutz, Jim, Tom, Dennis and Wayne Fromherz, 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.
Mary's family wants to thank all of those who cared and prayed for her on this her last journey home.
