Monday, Feb. 22, 5-6 p.m. EST (EWTN) "Polish Catholic." Premiere of a new six-part miniseries in which Jesuit Father Mitch Pacwa travels to Poland to explore that nation's Catholic heritage. In this episode, "St. John Paul II," he traces the early life of Karol Wojtyla, the future pope and saint. The series continues nightly through Saturday, Feb. 27, 5-6 p.m. EST each night (TV-G — general audience).

Monday, Feb. 22, 10-11;30 p.m. EST (PBS) "Mr. SOUL!" Filmmakers Melissa Haizlip and Samuel D. Pollard profile the former's uncle, Ellis Haizlip (1929-1991), who created, produced and hosted "SOUL!," a public television variety show that shared black culture with the nation beginning in 1968. An "Independent Lens" presentation (TV-PG — parental guidance suggested).

Wednesday, Feb. 24, 9-10 p.m. EST (PBS) "Looking for Life on Mars." This episode of the series "Nova" follows the work of NASA's Mars 2020 Mission (TV-G — general audience).
