NEW YORK (CNS) — Here are some television program notes for the week of Jan. 10 with their TV Parental Guidelines ratings if available. They have not been reviewed and therefore are not necessarily recommended by Catholic News Service.
Sunday, Jan. 10, 3:30-4:30 a.m. EST (EWTN) "Solemn Mass for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord."
Live broadcast from the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican as Pope Francis celebrates the eucharistic liturgy for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The program will be rerun 7-8 p.m. EST (TV-G — general audience).
Sunday, Jan. 10, noon-1:30 p.m. EST (EWTN) "The Holy Mass."
Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States, is scheduled to serve as celebrant and homilist at this celebration of the Mass for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord at Washington's Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (TV-G — general audience).
Monday, Jan. 11, 9-10 p.m. EST (PBS) "The Codebreaker."
This episode of the series "American Experience" recounts the career of pioneering cryptologist Elizebeth Friedman (1892-1980) who used her abilities to bring down gangster Al Capone and a Nazi spy ring (TV-PG — parental guidance suggested).
Friday, Jan. 15, 10-11 p.m. EST (PBS) "The Magic of Callas."
Filmmaker Holger Preusse's documentary profiles acclaimed opera star Maria Callas (1923-1977). A "Great Performances" presentation (TV-G — general audience).
