Sunday, Oct. 10, 9-10 p.m. EDT (History) "The Engineering That Built the World." Premiere of a new series focusing on such iconic structures and engineering feats as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Panama Canal, the Transcontinental Railroad and the Statue of Liberty.

Tuesday, Oct. 12, 10-11 p.m. EDT (PBS) "Raising the Future: The Child Care Crisis." This special looks at how the lack of affordable, quality child care is affecting American families (TV-PG — parental guidance suggested).

Wednesday, Oct. 13, 5-7:45 a.m. EDT (EWTN) "Holy Mass." A eucharistic liturgy from the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal (TV-G — general audience).

Friday, Oct. 15, 10-11 p.m. EDT (PBS) "Letters to Eloisa." A profile of Cuba's Jose Lezama Lima (1910-1976), an all-but-forgotten Latin American literary figure. Part of the series "Voces" (TV-14 — parents strongly cautioned).
