The Grotto in Northeast Portland will host a women’s conference Saturday, Nov. 9, focusing on spiritual motherhood.

The Conference will host Kathleen Beckman, author of “When Women Pray," and "God’s Healing Mercy.”

Preparing the way toward Advent and the nativity, the day explores spiritual motherhood as one of God’s greatest gifts. Recipients will get a copy of Los Angeles Auxiliary Bishop Robert Barron’s new book, “Letter to a Suffering Church,” as well as complimentary access to the Grotto’s upper gardens. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, Sisters Veronica Schueler and Anne Clare Keeler, will explain how motherhood can be lived out in Franciscan spirituality.

The day begins with Mass at 8 a.m. followed by breakfast and talks. It is slated to end with a holy hour starting at 4 p.m.
