The beauty of the Christian moral life is the topic of a series of presentations and a panel discussion set for Monday, Dec. 10, 7 – 9 p.m. in Aquinas Hall at Holy Rosary Parish in Northeast Portland.

It’s an installment of the Archbishop’s Lecture Series, which brings Catholic intellectuals, authors and scholars to address the Catholic faith and its relationship to the modern world.

Speakers will reflect on “Veritatis Splendor,” an encyclical issued by St. John Paul 25 years ago to explain and affirm essential Catholic moral teachings. Presenters and panelists will explore the historical context of the document, its theological content, and its ongoing relevance for the church and world today.

Presenters are Dominican Father Brian Mullady, an EWTN host and speaker based at Holy Rosary Parish; Father Todd Molinari, vicar for clergy for the Archdiocese of Portland who studied in Rome; Sarah Bartel, a moral theologian, mother and columnist in Northwest Catholic magazine; and Father Timothy Furlow, pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Northwest Portland who also studied in Rome.

There is no cost to attend. To RSVP, go to formation.archdpdx.org/archbishop-lecture-series, email mmarston@archdpdx.org or call 503-233-8324.
