Mount Angel Abbey’s 2019 fall lecture series, “Interfacing Science and Religion,” set for Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Mount Angel Abbey Library, is the first of four presentations on the topic. Benedictine Brother Louis de Montfort Nguyen will speak on the exploration of the relationship between religion and science.

Brother Louis de Montfort is a monk of Mount Angel Abbey and recipient of two “Re-engaging Science in Seminaries” grants funded by the John Templeton Foundation and sponsored by John Carroll University. Brother Louis also will give the fourth presentation in December.

Coffee and light foods are provided during morning registration and breaks. Registration starts at 8:45 a.m., followed by a short prayer and announcements. In addition to two lectures, there will be dialogue with speaker. The presentation will end at approximately 11:50 a.m. Cost is $50 for the series/$15 a presentation; students $20/$5.
