On Oct. 13, the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women met for an annual day of recollection at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Southeast Portland. Father Tim Furlow, pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Northwest Portland, spoke to the women about forgiveness and healing.

Father Furlow said God works with us beyond our concepts of time and possibility. With prayer and reflection, he explained, we allow the Holy Spirit to come into our thoughts and bring us to forgiveness for injuries we have suffered.

Father Furlow told listeners how essential the Holy Eucharist is. The day included Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, two conferences and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Women from nine parishes attended.
