ASHLAND — The Newman Center at Southern Oregon University here sought to keep Catholic students growing in their faith even while holed up at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Elizabeth Millenheft, the youth and young adult minister at Our Lady of the Mountain Parish, offered free online faith formation classes called “Live with Liz” and Zoom meetings that included online games.

“While we are all social distancing, don’t forget to stay connected to God but also to each other,” Millenheft said in one social media post. “Learn a new prayer, send a friend a message, or pray with some friends over FaceTime.”

There are 540 Catholic students enrolled at Southern Oregon.
