Oregon Catholic Press (publisher of this newspaper) has issued “Samaritana,” Athenas’ latest single, marking the first single song release for Via Cantus, OCP’s new record label for new and emergent music that supports the church’s efforts in the new evangelization.

The song, co-written by Athenas and her husband, Tobías Buteler, tells the story of the Samaritan woman in the Gospel of John. "Samaritana" features sweeping orchestral strings and a modern pop arrangement which unfolds behind soulful lyrics which narrate the conversion story of a woman and her encounter with Jesus.

The release reached almost 400,000 views on YouTube and has been included on several playlists that feature major Latino Christian artists (Spotify Éxitos Cristianos, Novedades Cristianas and Amazon Musica Cristiana).

Athenas, the artist, has been busy with interviews with EWTN, ESNE (El Sembrador), Cristo Vision and many other Catholic and Christian media outlets.
