BEAVERTON — Portland area food vendors will compete for affection from celebrity judges at the Soup’s On 2016 fundraiser Oct. 1. The event is co-sponsored by the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon and the City of Beaverton. Proceeds benefit Sunshine Pantry.

The Sunshine Pantry provides food, housewares, amenities and clothing to about 500 families in Washington County each month.

Soup’s On 2016 will be held in the Valley Catholic Athletic Center from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Vendors, including Raccoon Lodge, Thirsty Lion, La Provence, Beaverton Police Department and Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, among others, will provide soups, bread, desserts and coffee.

Guests will vote for their favorite soups with awards going to the three highest-rated soups. The celebrities — a collection of local media personalities —  will award a Judges’ Choice Award.
