Two St. Mary of Oregon Sisters recently tested positive for COVID-19. The sisters are receiving medical care outside the motherhouse in Beaverton.

The religious order’s leadership team has been in close contact with local health authorities, and the 47 sisters in the convent are following all health-related guidelines, according to a statement from the order. Visits to the motherhouse have been restricted since mid-March, and the sisters have been self-isolating, as well as wearing masks, practicing hand hygiene and increasing sanitization efforts at the motherhouse.

“We are thankful our sisters are receiving the care they need,” said Sister Michael Francine Duncan, superior general for the order. “We are praying for a full recovery. We continually pray not only for our sisters, but also for the larger community and everyone who is impacted by this global pandemic.”
