SPRINGFIELD — Through the end of July, Catholic Community Services of Lane County is partnered up with the Springfield Grocery Outlet for the Independence from Hunger campaign.

When shoppers donate $5 or more at checkout this month, they receive a coupon for $5 off their next Grocery Outlet purchase of $25 or more. Pre-filled bag of groceries are delivered to the CCS Springfield food pantry and distributed to those in need.

Last year customers donated eight pallets of food to CCS valued at more than $7,000.

“CCS is grateful to the local community for its incredible support of Grocery Outlet’s Independence from Hunger Campaign and to owners, Tracy and Tom Hogan, for sponsoring this wonderful and important event since 2015,” said a statement from the service organization.
