    Scott Martin Niedermeyer, 58, loving husband and father of four beautiful children, died Sept. 15. A private Mass for family and close friends will be held at St. Mary Cathedral in Northwest Portland at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23. The Mass will be viewable via ZOOM.     CENTERVILLE, Wash. — Anthony Sarsfield, 87, died Aug. 29 from complications of prostate cancer in Goldendale, Washington. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Goldendale. There was a graveside service.

    ALOHA — Nancy Andresen, 85, died Sept. 3. There will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at St. Cecilia Church in Beaverton, where she was a parishioner.
  • Fr. Thomas Lester
    OAKLAND, Calif. —Redemptorist Father Thomas Lester, 89, of the Diocese of Oakland, died Aug. 9 in Auburn, California.
  • Charlene Miller
    GEARHART — Charlene Marie Katana Miller, 75, beloved wife, mother and grandmother (Nonna) died Aug. 24 in Gearhart. There was a funeral Mass with a rosary at St. Philip Benizi Church in Oregon City.
  • Genny Nelson
    Genevieve “Genny” Nelson, 67, co-founder of Sisters of the Road Cafe in Portland’s Old Town and a tireless voice for Portland’s marginalized, died Aug. 19. She had suffered from diabetes since age 8.
  • Peter Beer
    BROOKINGS — Peter Squires Beer, 83, a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Cathedral Parish in Reno, Nev., died Aug. 1 of a brain tumor.
  • Marylu Georgena Arrigotti
    Marylu Arrigotti, 85, died peacefully of heart-related issues Aug. 17, surrounded by her family in her Portland home. Although she spent nearly two years with home hospice care preparing for her journey, in her final weeks she spoke with loving anticipation of reuniting with her parents and the love of her life, Ray Arrigotti.
  • Emily May Daniel Faris, 88, died July 10 in Portland of metastatic lung cancer. There was a funeral Mass at Ascension Church in Southeast Portland, where she was a member.
  • Michael Donald Culbertson, 49, a member of St. Peter Parish in Portland, died of cancer May 23 in Gresham. There was a funeral Mass.
  • Sr. Mary Ann McGee, SNJM
    Holy Names Sister Mary Ann McGee [Sister Michele Marie] died peacefully July 27 at Brookdale Nine Mile, in Spokane, Washington. A funeral Mass will take place in the presence of her ashes at a later date.
  • MILWAUKIE — Gloria Mae Flaherty, 93, died July 28. There was a funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, where she was a parishioner. 
  • Dave Andresen
    ALOHA — Dave Andresen, 87, died Aug. 1. There was a funeral Mass at St. Cecilia Church in Beaverton, where he was a parishioner.
  • Kathryn Burnside
    NEWPORT — After a decades-long battle with cancer and rheumatoid arthritis, Kathy Madelene Haener Burnside died peacefully July 3, surrounded by her family. There was a private family funeral service and viewing at her home parish of Sacred Heart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
  • Jeanette Greenstreet-Crawford
    Jeanette Marie Greenstreet-Crawford died peacefully July 8, at home surrounded by her husband and children after a nearly 10-month battle with cancer. Her burial service in Gethsemani Cemetery was held July 14.

    CANBY — Mary "Marie" Augusta Nelke Trumm, 95, died July 4 at her home. There will be a funeral Mass once arrangements are decided.

    Margaret Mary Cook, loving matriarch of the Cook clan, died peacefully the morning of May 16.
  • Wayne Jenkins
    Wayne Conwell Jenkins, 84, a member of St. Pius X Parish for 49 years, died June 22 at St. Vincent Hospital. There will be a private funeral service at Willamette National Cemetery.
