    Dr. Chen Tsai, 99, devoted husband, beloved father, and accomplished neurosurgeon, died peacefully surrounded by family Feb. 1. There was a funeral Mass at St. Cyril Church in Wilsonville.
  • GLADSTONE — B. Ardalee Dickerson, 88, a member of St. John Parish in Oregon City, died of natural causes Jan. 14 in Clackamas. There will be a funeral Mass at St. John Church.
  • MOUNT ANGEL — Verna Scharbach 102, died of old age Jan. 24 in her home in Mount Angel. A graveside service is planned later in the year with the Benedictine Sisters in Mount Angel.
  • Doreen Weber
    Doreen Grace Weber, 87, died Jan. 30, 2021. There was a funeral Mass at St. Peter Church in Monument, Colorado. The service was livestreamed through petertherock.org.
  • Sr. Judith Henigin, O.S.B.
    Benedictine Sister Judith Henigin, 80, a member of Queen of Angels Monastery, died in the early morning Jan. 31, 2021, at Salem Health Hospital. There will be a private vigil Thursday, Feb. 4, and a funeral Mass with immediate family only on Friday, Feb. 5, followed by her burial in the monastery cemetery.
  • Harold Eckman
    Harold “Harry” James Eckman, 88, died peacefully at home in the early morning Sunday, Jan. 17, from cancer. A cemetery service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery with full military honors and the Knights of Columbus, in summer 2021.     Father Charles Dreisbach, 94, a priest of the Diocese of Baker who also served in the Archdiocese of Portland, died June 17, 2020. There was a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Klamath Falls.

    Erik Schram, age 32, died on Jan. 19, 2021. He was employed as the residential program manager at Blanchet House of Hospitality since 2019. 
  • Sr. Marcia Schrapps, SNJM
    Holy Names Sister Marcia Schrapps died in the early evening of Jan. 18 at South Hill Village Memory Care in Spokane, Washington. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.
  • Mary Darlene Gelskey
    EUGENE — Mary Darlene Gelskey, 87, a member of St. Mark Parish, died Jan. 7 of congestive heart failure with shortness of breath. There was a funeral Mass at St. Mark Church in Eugene.
  • Robert Stark
    OREGON CITY — Robert Stark, 85, a member of St. Ignatius Parish, died of complications related to Parkinson’s Disease Jan. 8. There will be a funeral Mass this summer.
  • James Elting
    OREGON CITY — James Alton Elting, 84, loving husband and father of seven children, died Jan. 10. There was a funeral Mass for immediate family members at St. John the Apostle Church.
  • Evelyn Van Agtmael
    Evelyn Mary Van Agtmael, 99, died Jan. 15 in Sublimity, surrounded by her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Jordan and its mission, St. Patrick, in Lyons, as well as St. Boniface Parish in Sublimity. The funeral Mass was at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
  • Helen Riverman Mason
    Helen Riverman Mason, 100, of Tigard died Jan. 8 in Beaverton. There will be a private funeral Mass Jan. 22 at St. Anthony Church in Tigard.
  • Jeffrey Ginter
    BEAVERTON — Jeffrey D. Ginter, 45, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home on January 11th, 2021. There was a funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Church in Beaverton.
  • Neil Miskimins
    Neil Andrew Miskimins, husband and father, died Dec. 28 in Bigfork, Montana. He was surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old.
  • Vincent "Pesky" Paveskovich
    Well known former educator, local athlete and coach, Vincent J. (Pesky) Paveskovich, 99, passed away Jan. 3, 2021.
  • Barbara Harris
    Barbara Lorraine McKiel Harris died peacefully Dec. 20 surrounded by loved ones at the Laurel Parc Assisted living center. Due to the restrictions of Covid 19 a private Mass and interment was held.
