FOREST GROVE — Donna Mae Compton, 67, died May 2 at the Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Portland. There was a family funeral Mass at Visitation Church in Verboort. Father Michael Vuky was celebrant. Rite of Christian Burial was at the Visitation Cemetery in Verboort.

Mrs. Compton was born April 26, 1953 in Denver, the daughter of the late Norman Norwood and Genoma (Farmer) Norwood. She was raised in Tyronza, Arkansas, until she moved with her family to Oregon, settling in Mountaindale. She graduated from Hillsboro Union High School in 1971.

She and Jerry Compton married July 8, 1975, in Tigard. They lived in Hillsboro until 1987, when they moved to Cornelius.

Mrs. Compton was preceded in death by her husband in 2000, after celebrating more than 25 years of marriage.

She was an active member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Verboort.

Mrs. Compton enjoyed crocheting, gardening and caring for her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Gabrielle Jenks; her brother, Michael Norwood, and nephew, Eric Norwood.

Survivors include her son, Jeremy Compton, of Cornelius, her brother, Ken Norwood of Toledo, Washington, granddaughter, Elizabeth Compton, of Medford, several nieces and nephews, her godchildren, Sarah Pearce, of Beaverton, and Casey Pearce, of Aloha, and several adopted grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances may be made to the Visitation Cemetery Endowment Fund, 4285 N.W. Visitation Road, Forest Grove, Oregon 97116.
