Doreen Grace Weber, 87, died Jan. 30, 2021. There was a funeral Mass at St. Peter Church in Monument, Colorado. The service was livestreamed through petertherock.org.
Mrs. Weber was born Jan. 27, 1934, to Francis and Grace Dawson Wachsmuth in Portland.
She graduated from St. Rose grade school in 1947 and Holy Child Academy in 1951. She was gifted with a beautiful soprano voice and attended the University of Portland with a music scholarship. She met Al Weber there and they married Dec. 26, 1947, after a two- year courtship.
She travelled extensively with him and with their growing family for 25 years in the U.S. Air Force with assignments in Washington, Oregon, France and Colorado.
She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 53 years.
She lived a fulfilling life as a wife and mother of seven children, Michael (Peggy), Deborah (Kit Hamby), Lisa (Chuck Delich), Patrick (Tammy), Katherine (Doug Hill), Julie (Chris Maniscalchi, d. 2019), and Carrie (John Manney). She was also grandmother to 16 grandchildren, (Jessica, Philip, Amber, Ashley, Brandon, Jenny, Kyle, Courtney, Erica, Lauren, Becca, Andrew, Luke, Alyssa, Greg and Kelly), and had eight great-grandchildren (Madeline, Zach, Charlie, Olivia, Sydney, Cooper, Eli, and Wyatt).
Mrs. Weber loved her children, the Catholic Church, birds, flowers, angels, and her husband of 67 years. She was loved by many, known for her strength of convictions and giving personality, as well as her endless energy she put into whatever she set forth to do.
Interment will be Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Portland.
Donations may be made in the name of Doreen Weber to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
