Dorothy Jewitt Rose, 88, a member of St. Therese Parish in Northeast Portland, died Dec. 27. There will be a get-together and celebration of her life at a later date.

Mrs. Rose was born June 1, 1932, to Sidney and Esther Jewitt in Portland. She grew up in Milwaukie, and graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1950.

She worked at the ice rink at 20 NW Marshall St., from the late 1940s to the early '50s. She worked for Fick Distributing Company in the early '50s, until 1958. In 1956, she married Armel Rose. Mrs. Rose was active at St. Therese Parish, the Women Association and the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women. She loved ice skating, golfing, fishing and camping.

Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Armel Rose, who died in 2001.

She is survived by her son, Rodney Rose; grandson, Sam Rose; and great-grandson, Brayden.
