Glenn Eugene Nado, 91, died peacefully at home in Fairview Dec. 28. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

Mr. Nado was born Feb. 5, 1929, in Roslyn, South Dakota to George and Emma Nado. After moving to Oregon in the late 1930s, he attended Silverton High School where he was an all-around star athlete. After graduation in 1947, Glenn started a sales career at J. C. Penny.

In 1948, Mr. Nado met and fell in love with Nellie Johnson. They married Aug. 8, 1948, and moved to Portland in 1950 where they raised their five children. Mr. Nado retired from J. C. Penney in 1984 and subsequently worked security for several years at the Multnomah County central library. The couple moved to Fairview in 1997. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their grandchildren.

Mr. Nado is survived by his children Robert Nado, Gregory Nado, Teresa O’Brien and Michelle Mishler; and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Nellie Nado, his spouse for 71 years, and son Steven Nado.
