Helen Riverman Mason, 100, of Tigard died Jan. 8 in Beaverton. There will be a private funeral Mass Jan. 22 at St. Anthony Church in Tigard.

Mrs. Mason was born Oct. 9, 1920, in Portland to Carl and Eulalia Riverman. She was the fourth of nine children.

She lived most of her life in Tigard, attending St. Anthony School. She was one of the original alumna of Saint Mary of the Valley High School. She married Arthur Mason in 1966; he died Dec. 7, 1985.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Riverman (Rosalie) of Yachats; her husband’s daughter, Nancy Paris of Coupeville, Washington, and many devoted nieces and nephews who knew her as “Auntie Helen”.

Mrs. Mason was a member of Saint Anthony Church in Tigard for most of her life. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and served as their regent for many years. She also served as a eucharistic minister, delivering hosts to the sick and infirmed. She will be remembered for her smile and her hugs to everyone she met, as well as her prayers for her family and friends.

Interment will be at Saint Anthony Cemetery.
