Margaret Mary Cook, loving matriarch of the Cook clan, died peacefully the morning of May 16.

Mrs. Cook was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Anton and Helen Hildebrand. When she was young, her family immigrated to Portland, where she would live until her death.

In May 1940, she married Ralph Cook, who died in 1996.

Mrs. Cook was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament and St. Charles Parishes. She worked for many years at the Town Club until her retirement in 1985.

She enjoyed attending Sunday Masses, taking trips to Manzanita on the Oregon coast (which included a beer and burger at the San Dune Pub) and the many large family gatherings.

She is survived by her ten children: Raymond, Carol, Marilyn, Kenneth, Joanne, Janice, Patricia, Robert (deceased), James and Kathy. She is also survived by numerous sons and daughters-in-law, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Her family says that her stubbornness, wit, love of food, feistiness, and strength will be greatly missed by all.
