Bob Dorney, 90, died Monday, Aug. 30, amongst his loving family in Gresham. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, at St. Agatha Church in Southeast Portland. Interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery.

Bob was born Sept. 19, 1930, to Albert and Charlotte Mullenhoff Dorney.

He served in the Air National Guard during the Korean conflict and was deployed to Ladd Air Base in Fairbanks, Alaska.

He then joined the Portland Police Bureau and his career spanned 35 years. He worked as a patrolman, homicide detective, and patrol sergeant. After retiring from the Portland Police, he worked at Safeway for an additional 17 years.

Loving husband of Teruko (Yamaguchi) Dorney. Father to Joseph, Patrick and Molly Dorney.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Susan Dorney and Margaret (Peggy) Hale. He was grandfather to ten and had many great grandchildren. Brother to Dolores Colter of Washington.

Bob loved to travel; he and Teruko had visited numerous countries together. He also enjoyed hiking, mushroom hunting and gardening. Bob was a longtime parishioner at St. Henry Church in Gresham.
