MILWAUKIE — Ronald Dean Mituniewicz died Nov. 10, his significant other and caregiver, Alaina Lewis, by his side. Funeral services will be at Gethsemani Cemetery in Happy Valley, November 23 at 11 a.m. Attendance is limited to 50 people. After the service, the gates will be opened to those who want to pay their respects at the crypt.

Ron was born to Jack and Eleanora Young Mituniewicz Feb. 16, 1954, in Portland. He grew up in Carver and graduated from Clackamas High School in 1972. There he met his wife Jan Welborn. They married May 21, 1977, at St. Phllip Benizi Church in Redland.

After high school he worked at Arbuckle Cabinet Shop in Milwaukie, John Carr Cabinet Shop in Oregon City, drove a concrete truck for Jansik Concrete out of Carver and for Wilsonville Concrete out of Wilsonville. He started his own Excavation Business, N2 Excavation, which he successfully ran until his death. He started in his journey of retirement in February 2020.

In grade school he was the prince in the Junior Rose Festival Parade. Ron and Jan ran a Hawaiian Shave Ice wagon at various fairs and events throughout the Portland Metro area. Ron was a member of the Milwaukie Portland Elks, a volunteer with the Oregon Volunteer Dune Patrol, and had a strong belief in the importance of the trade schools.

Jan died in October 2013.

Ron is survived by his brothers, James Mituniewicz (Laura), Robert Mituniewicz; foster brother, Clifford Pas (Lisa); his aunts, Alice Mituniewicz Shelly (Joe), Rose Mituniewicz Miller (Skip), Dorothy Mituniewicz, Virginia Mituniewicz Mathews (Richard); cousins; Sue Miller Mulligan (Patrick), Mike Miller (Stefani), Kathleen Shelly Fonaas (Kim), Joseph Shelly (Noemi), Mary Mathews Stevens (Mark), Molly Mathews Bjorklund (Rogers),Nephews; John Mituniewicz, Geoff Schumacher (Nicole), Jon Schumacher (Courtney), Jim Schumacher (Stephanie) Stevens Welborn, Michael Welborn; nieces: Karen Mituniewicz Mattingley (Grant), April Mituniewicz (Jesse).
