Across the world, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi presents an opportunity for the faithful to have their pets and animals blessed. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many communities have had to modify the tradition. At Holy Redeemer Parish in North Bend, parishioners have been encouraged to send in photos of their pets to Fr. Jorge Hernandez, pastor. The images will be on the parish website throughout October and participants will receive a digital certificate. “May God bless our pet companions,” said Fr. Hernandez.
