Eight St. Mary’s Academy students have been selected to sing in the Oregon Music Educator’s All-State Choir, and one freshman has been accepted into the Oregon Music Educator’s All-State Orchestra. The nine students will be joining some of the best student-musicians from across the state to perform at the Oregon Music Education Association Conference on Sunday, Jan. 18 in Eugene.

“All of our students work really hard on their craft, and it is a great honor to be recognized and chosen to perform in front of Oregon’s Music Educators,” said Kathy Briggs, St. Mary’s Academy’s director of choral music. “I am excited to see them on stage next January.”

Maeve Nagel-Frazel, a freshman, will play violin in the All-State Orchestra. In the All-State Choir are senior Larissa Banitt, sophomore Iris Cohn, sophomore Grace Hermes, junior Lindsay Hope, senior Caroline Immroth, senior Maddi Nelson, senior Megan Piggott and sophomore Sydney Wagner.

St. Mary's Academy was founded in 1859 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.
