SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga University ranked seventh in the nation among large programs for its first-time pass rate on the 2018 Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination, according to results released this winter by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Gonzaga also remains No. 1 among schools in the Northwest.

With a pass rate of more than 83% across all sections of the exam, Gonzaga is above the national average for the first-time CPA pass rate of 57.5%, according to statistics published by the NASBA. Gonzaga is ranked 18th overall among all accounting programs. To be considered a large program, 60 or more candidates must sit for the CPA exam.

To pass the rigorous professional certification, test-takers need to score a minimum of 75% on each section.
