St. Andrew Nativity School in Portland, Oregon’s only nonprofit private school for low-income students of all faiths and backgrounds, recently received a Murdock Match Grant of $150,000 from the Silver Family Foundation. The grant will be used to help Nativity leverage giving at its two major fundraising events: the annual Promoting Success Luncheon and Harvesting Success Dinner. These two events raise about a quarter of the school’s revenue. They feature alumni testimonials and involve the local business and arts community.

This year’s Harvesting Success gala will serve a menu designed and prepared by chefs from the Irving St. Kitchen and feature music by Grammy-nominated jazz artist Patrick Lamb.

Gifts like the Murdock Match Grant help Nativity strengthen programs and serve graduates, most of whom get placed in local private high schools, with full-tuition assistance. The Graduate Support Program provides support as alumni navigate their transition into high school, college, vocational training and the workforce.
