ESTACADA — The St. Aloysius Conference of St. Vincent de Paul, based out of St. Aloysius Mission in Estacada, was awarded the 2019 Distinguished Nonprofit Award by Clackamas County Community Action Board this spring.

The award was given “in recognition of significant achievement in addressing the causes and conditions of poverty in Clackamas County.” The award was presented to the St. Aloysius Conference and its volunteers at a reception dinner at the Ainsworth House and Gardens in Oregon City May 8.

In 2018, St. Aloysius volunteers contributed more than 1,405 hours to the St. Vincent de Paul conference to assemble and distribute more than 3,485 boxes of food to 2,917 families consisting of 8,450 individuals. Food boxes are distributed 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at St. Aloysius.
