OREGON CITY — Throughout Advent, St. John the Apostle School participated in a project using prayer intentions. All students had an opportunity to create “hay” by writing a prayer on a slip of paper. Some students wrote about acts of kindness — helping someone or doing something positive. Each written piece of “hay” filled up the manger for baby Jesus.

“We were thrilled to welcome our students back to school after the Christmas break, especially because baby Jesus was here in the manger,” said Mary Haluska, principal at St. John the Apostle.
