KEIZER — Crocheters and knitters from eight different parishes gathered Sept. 28 for the seventh annual Prayer Shawl Ministry Retreat held at St. Edward Parish here.

The theme of the retreat, which was coordinated by Arleigh Lulay who leads of the ministry at St. Edward, was Jesus, The Divine Mercy of God.

Father Gary Zerr, pastor of St. Edward, and Benedictine Sister Dorothy Jean Beyer, spoke to attendees. Sister Dorothy Jean discussed the significance of the prayer shawl ministry and the life of St. Faustina.

The retreatants worked on their prayer shawls, prayed the rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and shared the special projects that each parish group has been doing.

Next year’s conference will be held at St. Mary Parish in Mount Angel.
