Members of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Northeast Portland may soon return to Mass. The parish intends to resume liturgy as soon as Multnomah County enters phase 2 of Oregon’s reopening plan. As of press time, the county is still in phase 1.

Since public Masses were canceled in March, the parish has been holding Sunday Liturgy of the Word services in English and Spanish on Zoom, the video conferencing internet application. The parish has provided a page on its website listing all parish news and resources for individual worship.

Across the parish’s campus, De La Salle North Catholic High School has begun renovation and construction. The school is scheduled to open at the parish in the fall of 2021. Members of St. Charles also have been raising awareness and furthering education on issues of racial injustice, which is building toward an all-parish program on the topic Sept. 13. The program will be presented on Zoom.
