STAYTON — Regis High School will hold a bottle and can drive Wednesday, Oct. 7, 7 a.m.-6 p.m. for wildfire relief in the Santiam Canyon.

Called “Cans for the Canyon,” the drive takes place in the high school parking lot, 550 West Regis St. in Stayton. In addition to refundable cans and bottles that will create funds for families in trouble, the drive will welcome canned food to feed households in need.

“One part of our mission is to help the community,” said Chris VanCauteren, academic dean at the high school.

Almost everyone in the area has lost a home, had a home damaged or knows someone who suffered a loss, VanCauteren said.
