Like my older sister, I have a form of anxiety disorder called generalized anxiety disorder. Unlike her, mine is more severe, which in turn caused many people at my former parish to look down upon me as a threat.

Some acted as if to say: “When a believer in Christ has mental health issues, then such a believer will always be viewed as weak and never find true happiness through the eyes of God.”

This in turn caused me to leave my former parish in late 2017 in favor of a nearby Catholic parish.

Being judgmental toward others we want to avoid is hypocritical of what our Lord expects from us; the expectation being to not allow judgmental thinking to get the better of us.

May was Mental Health Awareness Month, so I ask that all who read this pray for all who have mental health challenges.
