Regarding “Go nonpartisan,” Jan. 22, Page 31:

The writer, promoting a comprehensive and nonpartisan movement among Catholics, presents an argument I’ve heard many times in the past. She attempts to equate the death penalty with abortion despite the fact that the Catholic Church designates abortion as gravely evil (“Catechism of the Catholic Church,” No. 2271). Although Pope Francis has stated that the death penalty is not admissible, he has not described it as gravely evil.

That leaves the editorial as nothing more than a lame excuse to justify voting for Biden and or other Democrats.
