When the disability film “CODA” was named Best Picture at the Academy Awards, I was thoughtful as a Catholic who is autistic.

I used some verses from Scripture to show we ought not look down upon those who are different.

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). “You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am The Lord” (Leviticus 19:14).

If you believe in Jesus Christ but see people with disabilities as a threat to your faith in God, remember please: "Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things" (1 Corinthinians 13:7).
