Regarding “Praying for racial justice,” Sept. 4, Pages 12-13:

The article on St. Rose Parish’s “vigil for Black lives” focuses on racism and loss of Black lives. The Catholic Sentinel has published many stories in recent issues with the same theme. But, of greater impact on our communities are these factors: unwed teen pregnancy, irresponsible and absent fathers, dropping out of school, abortion, gang activity and drug abuse. Dwelling on racism at this time is not the best thing to do.
