In this situation, "Catholic" is a label that has been used for a political advantage. A true catholic would not support abortion or the transgender ideology or a record number of Executive Orders. We love our liberal, progressive, even socialist brethren, but to deny our faith to be in a "popular" position for political power is far from honorable or faithful.

"Our Catholic ancestors often migrated to this country with little but hope." But first and foremost, they came with much hope for God, gold, and glory, not necessarily in that order. Catholicism was Romanticized, and Christianity showed little charity as it converted/conquered the New World. Look at the Church in America today.

I completely disagree, my ancestors of Irish Catholic descent would be appalled and embarrassed to be represented by a man like President Biden. I respect him because of his position but am saddened by his actions. He represents the dreaded term “cafeteria Catholic”.

I’m not old enough to remember JFK, but always knew he was the only Catholic president. Now I’m proud to have a second. And I’m a Republican. I’m happy to have the election behind us, and proud to have a good and honest (and yes, Catholic) president.

I don’t hold pride in seeing a Catholic in the presidential office here. Why? This situation says that if you want to be an elected official in such a high position, you need to deny the Church’s essential teachings. However, Justice Barrett gives me hope that faithful Catholics can reach to such heights, despite such anti-Catholic prejudice, but only with steadfastness.

No, actually, I cannot take pride in a Catholic becoming President in a country that does not even offer a basic right to life. The price of legalized genocide, in abortion, euthanasia, the death penalty, war, and starvation is much too high. We went from a president that only supported one of these to a president who supports the other four, and I am filled with shame.
