It was with sadness that I saw a delegate at a national political convention recite the Pledge of Allegiance and omit the words “under God.” The Knights of Columbus introduced the wording in legislation in the 1950s.

Rights granted under the culture of death — right to a job, right to a house, right to health care — cannot be substituted for rights guaranteed by God under the culture of life: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
