Among the important annual events in the Archdiocese are the retreats for laymen, directed by the Benedictine Fathers at Mt.

Angel seminary each year. Our Catholic men will find attendance at them most pleasant and profitable. A healthy spiritual development cannot but follow from the contemplation of the eternal truths which assume new interest and beauty when studied at close range. Men who look forward with certain misgivings to segregating themselves from business and other worldly pursuits are greatly surprised to find participation in these spiritual retreats both physically and spiritually exhilarating.
