Regarding “Above the fray,” May 1, Page 23:

I appreciate your latest editorial concerning the church’s attempts at being unbiased in politics. I particularly like your affirmation: “In sum, the dignity of life is paramount.”

However, some entities of the Catholic Church have fallen in with overly partisan elements in the pro-life movement. We cannot simply make this “Go and God bless you and your baby.”

Better to study how one Catholic arm of the movement, an organization called “Good Counsel” quietly cares for troubled, unwed pregnant women. Their help goes beyond maternity care. Often, women are supported for years through education, job training, child care and housing.
