Regarding “Workers roughed up after man enters pastoral center,” Nov. 1, Page 1:

I cannot for the life of me understand why a minor incident involving a mentally ill man was splashed on the front page of the Catholic Sentinel.

Where is your Christian compassion? Why does everyone need to know the fellow’s police record? Or the blow-by-blow of the struggle outside?

And did you consider how this story could reinforce false stereotypes of mentally ill people?

These things happen in the world, in Portland, everywhere. There is no news value in it.
