Vote with integrity

Before you mark your ballots, think about your faith and your vows at confirmation. If you stand up every Sunday at Mass, and pray for an end to the murder of unborn and newborn children, then give your vote to candidates who do not support these horrors. Stop electing people who think it’s ok to murder anyone of any age, just for convenience.

This letter to the editor deeply saddens me, and demonstrates how far we've gone from our mission to serve others. We cannot be single-issue voters. If we are truly pro-life people, we must pick candidates who will support life beyond the womb as well. We cannot be just pro-birth, and as such we must pick better candidates.

Unwanted, unplanned or unsupportable conception can be addressed only by the woman with the advice and support of the father, her family, her doctor and her spiritual advisor. BTW, if abortion is the woman's fault or blame, who bears the fault or blame for the countless miscarriages, spontaneous abortions and pregnancy loss? God?
