Regarding “Catholics asked to help refugees with gift cards,” Nov. 19, Page 1:

Why are gift cards to Fred Meyer being asked for when we have wonderful St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores chocked full of very nice clothes?

These clothes are far less costly than new items at Fred Meyer and the refugees would get far more value for the dollars spent, plus the purchases would be supporting the cause of a worthy Catholic provider.

I buy a fair amount of my clothes from “Vinnie’s,” as they are called in Salem.

I am proud to wear OPC’s (other people’s clothes) as doing so is a win/win.
