SPRINGFIELD — Stefani Roybal joined Catholic Community Services of Lane County as development director in October after Jerry Ragan retired.

Roybal was the pastoral associate at St. Thomas More University Parish in Eugene from 1998 to 2002. She left Eugene for 10 years to live in the San Francisco Bay Area where she worked at two parishes and two Catholic schools as a campus minister and educator.

Upon returning to Eugene in 2013, she established connections with the community through nonprofit organizations, churches, and through development work at FOOD For Lane County, a feeding organization where she served for five years.

“People often see development as simply fundraising,” Roybal said. “While this is certainly a good part of the job, I also look forward to helping people discern how they can share their unique gifts from God with those who are the most vulnerable in our community.”

Sue Paiement, executive director of Catholic Community Services of Lane County wished Ragan and his wife, Patty, well in their retirement and welcomed Roybal.

Roybal is not new to CCS, having attended monthly tours as well as three “Great Hour of Caring” breakfasts with her husband, Andy.

“We are very fortunate to have her on our staff,” Paiement said.
